  How many meetings did you actually enjoy?

  i was talking to my husband and we were trying to work out how many meetings we actually came away from feeling enthused or excited by what we had heard.

  not including pre and post meeting association how many wow moments can you recall?.

  we had to conclude that most of the time in the organisation the meeting was something you endured.

  When I was a kid i spent my time memorizing the books of the bible and looking up the scriptures that were read. I liked it because before and after I got so many complements cuz I was being so well brainwashed. I was the "congregation" kid. Single dad was raising me and my brother and the congregation took over. As I grew up and was not always perface one by one the families disowned me.... After pioneering and being perfect again I enjoyed the meedings again cuz I was so perfact.... when i started to dout i hated the meedings all they did was make me feel bad about myself and I had to listen to bad speakers tell me what to do!!! I think they are very negative and only the self rightious are built up

  1. gods clean organization" (as though, they are aware of all hidden secrets within the rank and file at any given moment , and they are arthorized from god to declare someone clean or not clean when in reality it is christ ransom that accomplishes this.).

  well after fading and keeping a low key i think the elders are finally going to get to me.

  in 2007 i moved to another city but quickly moved back home about two months later.

  the whole time everyone from my old congregation has been thinking i've been in another city.

  i never really carried anything on me.

  it was always fun getting the card signed and all (a welcome change of pace at the service meeting).

  but i always thought it looked too weird to have that in my wallet.

  I carried it around 100% of the time and felt guilt if for some reason I left home with out it!!! I threw it out about a year ago and got a new POA in writing in fear if something happen my brother would try to take over my health care and make me not get a transfusion... In my new legal document I put that no information about my health or treatment is to be given out to anyone NOT on my POA!!!

  so what's new with me... well may 29th is when my sister and her husband is getting baptized as a jw!

  Hey Butterfly,

  My Brother has been shunning me now for almost two years since I stopped going to meedings. He was 1/2 polite till I married a worldly man. He has not met his Brother in law 1 and 1/2 years married and I don't forsee him any time soon meeting. It has been extreamly hard for me. He didn't even let me tell him "why" I don't go. He didn't want to hear it!

  Were You Surprised That The "World" Was Not As Bad As The Watchtower Claimed?

  if you leave the "safe waters" of the organization and go back into the world, you are doomed to misery----per the watchtower.....was that your experience?.

  this is one of the many reasons I left!!! We were always told JW's are good the world is Bad.... After a lifetime of badness from JW's and seeing how nice some Worldly people are it was one of the lights that came on and I said "get me out"!!! they claim to be so loving but I don't even think they understand the word...

  2 1/2 years lasted 12 years !!! hated it from day one, tried to make myself happy cuz had no choice, or so I thought... left 2 years ago should have never married him!!!

  i read the book and think the extream they are saying is BS but I do think our thinking and "gutt" instinct can make a huge impact on our lives... think + and good things happen...
